The abortion bill clears the State Senate and heads to the Governor’s desk, and with the North Carolina Senate now approving a 12-week abortion ban, the GOP super majority will be put to the test.
“This is one of the most consequential things that we have done in this chamber,” said State Senator Dan Blue, referring to Senate Bill 20. North Carolina Republicans fast-tracked this proposal for a new 12-week abortion ban passing both chambers on party-line votes less than 48 hours after being introduced. He says lawmakers had little time to debate and review this matter.
