A Message from Dan

Growing up in a four-room farmhouse in Robeson County, I quickly learned that the values of hard work, faith, and education were the keys to a successful future – lessons learned from my parents, teachers and my community. I’ve never lost sight of those values, and that’s why I fight every day to help provide North Carolinians with the same opportunities to succeed.

What We’ve Achieved

How Dan’s Working for You:

✓ Medicaid Expansion

In March, 2023, North Carolina became the 40th state to approve Medicaid Expansion. The path to expansion is the result of years of negotiations with Republican lawmakers. Once enacted, this will provide affordable healthcare for over 500,000 working North Carolinians, and create more than 80,000 jobs across our state.

✓ Clean Energy Initiative

Under Governor Roy Cooper’s leadership, the General Assembly passed one of the strongest clean energy plans in the country. The plan provides a path for a 70 percent reduction in carbon emissions for 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2050. This was a bipartisan effort to put North Carolina on the path to a cleaner future.

✓ Re-Open Schools Safely

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, state and local officials struggled with creating a plan to get students back in the classroom, while maintaining safety protocols. Senator Blue’s bill to reopen schools safely passed with bipartisan support, getting students and families back into the classroom.
